Brooke Crosswhite, the new Harm Reduction Emergency Shelter Advocate at The Village, facilitated her first Morning Jumpstart Meeting and provided goodie bags for each resident! Attached to each goodie bag was a handwritten note with an inspirational message for residents, “Thank you for coming to Morning Meeting! I am so grateful to see your face this morning and I hope you have a wonderful day. You are capable of achieving anything!”
The Village is one of The People Concern’s interim housing sites in Downtown L.A.. located in Skid Row. In addition to having a safe place to shelter and take care of basic needs, program participants at The Village receive intensive case management services – case managers work one-on-one with program participants connecting them to supportive services and long-term permanent housing.
The Morning Jumpstart Meetings are daily meetings facilitated by The People Concern staff for The Village participants. The meetings are meant to keep the people informed, engaged and inspired. They are a safe space for our program participants to share their achievements, motivate others and stay up to date on agency announcements. They also provide opportunities for building life skills and goal planning.
Thank you, Brooke, for inspiring our program participants to reach their full potential. Welcome to The People Concern Team!
