Meet Christina!

Christina first became connected to Sojourn, as a program participant. She was so moved by the support and sense of community that she received at Sojourn that she wanted to give back to others in similar situations and became a Sojourn volunteer! Today Christina is a volunteer Support Group Facilitator. Listen to what inspires her to continue volunteering her time after all these years.

Sojourn, The People Concern’s domestic violence program, serves victims of domestic violence and their children by providing immediate and safe shelter to those escaping abusive households. Through shelter, support groups, peer counseling, a 24-hour hotline, licensed therapy, legal services, referrals and housing services, Sojourn brings safety, connection and hope to individuals and families so that they may begin to rebuild their lives away from violence. The People Concern is dedicated to creating a community in which everyone, regardless of their struggles, can be housed, healthy and safe.
